To the kids in the Favela of Lauro de Freitas, Bahia Brazil Christmas came early and bigger than most would ever see as German producer Peter Doc B of EEDB (Eagle E and Doc) teamed up with International Brazilian Rap Star Kaos Mc, of the Lokos Da Favela Family movement and Shlepp Entertainment Ltd from the UK to put on a huge kids day celebration bash.  The event drew thousands of people and hundreds of kids, who had to be entertained, fed and given gifts as well as watching their favourite rap star Kaos Mc perform for them.

Toyin Adekale is a British born, Sierra Leonian/Nigerian artist and songwriter who for decades has been hitting the charts, mostly in reggae music.  Toyins’ success has spanned several genres and decades crossing over into pop allowing her to reach many people worldwide. She wants to use her voice to predominantly highlight the plight of young black girls in Africa and the rest of the world who are suffering from constant sexual abuse.

It took way too long for the Remake of Alex Haley's Roots to hit the UK and then only to be aired on BBC4. When I first heard about it I was not impressed. The original was one of those things like 'Star Wars' woven into my past that should not be messed with. How could they improve on what was at the time and remains today one of the best TV shows of all time?
