Maricopa County officials said Saturday Superior Court Judge Rosa Mroz, who was hit by a car earlier this week, has died from her injuries.
Mroz reportedly died Saturday morning at a hospital.
She was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street near 56th Street and Camelback Road Wednesday morning.
A preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the car that struck her failed to stop for a red light, according to Phoenix police.
“Judge Mroz was a gifted jurist, a dedicated public servant, and a true friend,” said Maricopa County Superior Court Presiding Judge Joseph Welty in a press release. “The thoughts and prayers of everyone in the Judicial Branch in Maricopa County are with her family at this difficult time.”
