Donald Trump spoke at another rally, on another consecutive weekend, as primary battles continue around the country. On Saturday night in Selma, North Carolina, while supporting several GOP candidates in their upcoming election bids, Trump said he could perhaps be the most honest man God has created.

As Trump told a story about an anonymous friend who supposedly told the former president how he had been squeaky clean during his administration, Trump agreed.

Trump said that friend had told him he was “the cleanest on Earth” after multiple investigations, including two impeachments and the ongoing January 6 (2021) trials and investigations.

“You know, you’ve been investigated years and years, millions and millions of pages of documents, they found nothing,” Trump said as he then pointed toward the local sheriff. “You are the cleanest on Earth when you think about it.

Trump then looked toward his right and told the sheriff this remark.

“I’ve got to be the cleanest, I think I’m the most honest human being, perhaps, that God has ever created,” Trump said.

Trump said Democrat prosecutors should “stop the crime and the bloodshed that is raging uncontrollably in Democrat run cities and New York, Leticia James, New York has got disasters numbers a record amount. Leticia James should be focusing on New York instead of ‘Let’s get Trump.”

Trump said earlier in the rally, in which he was there to promote and endorse Ted Budd for the Senate race in the primary and the re-election campaign for U.S. Representative Madison Cawthorn, who has drawn ire lately for his remarks about alleged orgies and cocaine use among Congress members.

Here’s what Cawthorn said after his statement.

“I will not back down to the mob, and I will not let them win,” Cawthorn said last week when pressured about his statement. “I will continue fighting for many years to come.”

Trump also compared himself to Al Capone and two wild west characters regarding their investigations.

“I’ve been investigated by the Democrats more the Billy the Kid, Jessie James and Al Capone combined,” Trump told the crowd. “And in all cases I’ve been innocent.”

Trump then pointed to the local sheriff, who wasn’t pictured nor mentioned by name, and Trump said the sheriff should be sent to New York City “to clean things up.”

Trump, on cue like many of his previous rallies, gave his opinions of the Joe Biden administration, citing Biden’s “failures” in border strategy, inflation, energy and oil prices, crime in Democrat-run cities, the Russia-Ukraine war, trade, transgenders competing in women’s sports and other policies that don’t jibe with GOP values.

“We will restore law and order in America again,” Trump said. The former president went on to tout America’s nuclear power, defending the Constitution, restoring “patriotic education” and loving “the great American flag.”
