A student was shot at a middle school in East Oakland on Monday by a 12-year-old active gunman in police custody.
The shooting transpired Monday on the campus of Madison Park Academy, cops say, forcing officials to evacuate the school in the Sobrante Park neighborhood.
The injured student, who cops said was aged 13, was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries sustained during the attack by the pre-teen shooter.
Cops said the gunman attempted to evade police in the aftermath of the shooting but was ultimately captured.
Officials have yet to reveal if the suspect was a student at the school – the latest to be rocked by a mass shooting.
