On Tuesday, Amerie Jo Garza’s family is asking people to wear lilac or lavender — her favorite color. A few days later, Makenna Lee Elrod’s family is asking friends and family to wear purple, their 10-year-old’s favorite color.
The two 10-year-olds were among the 21 victims of a mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas last week.
All 21 fatalities took place in the same 4th-grade classroom at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, Lt. Chris Olivarez, spokesperson for the Texas Department for Public Safety, told CNN.
Multiple GoFundMe fundraisers have been raising money for the families of the 19 children and two teachers.
“She was so smart and such a good child,” the GoFundMe for Garza states. “Amerie is known for being a hero and trying to call 911 before the shooter took her life.”
She had just turned 10 on May 10, according to the GoFundMe. And received an award for honor roll the day of the shooting.
“My little love is now flying high with the angels above,” Angel Garza wrote about his daughter. “Please don’t take a second for granted. Hug your family. Tell them you love them. I love you Amerie jo. Watch over your baby brother for me.”
On Wednesday, Garza posted two more photos of his daughter.
“I will never be happy or complete again,” he said.

A visitation is on Friday, June 10, at 3 p.m. at Rushing Estes Knowles Chapel in Uvalde. The funeral service is being held Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 10 a.m. It will be located at 1st Baptist Church in Uvalde.
Amerie Jo Garza
The 10-year-old’s funeral will be held May 31, at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, which is located at 408 Ft. Clark in Uvalde.
Alithia Ramirez
A visitation for Alithia will be held on Saturday, June 4, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary Chapel. A funeral service will then be held on Sunday, June 5, at the First Baptist Church at 3 p.m.
Annabell Guadalupe Rodriguez
The visitation for Annabell will be held on Tuesday, June 7, at Rushing Estes Knowles, from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral will be then held on Wednesday, June 8, at Rushing Estes Knowles at 12 p.m.
Eliahna Amyah Garcia
A visitation for Eliahna will be held on Sunday, June 5, at Rushing Estes Knowles from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral will then be held on Monday, June 6 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m.
Eliahna A. Torres
A visitation for Eliahna will begin on Wednesday, June 1, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral service will then be held on Thursday, June 2, at 11 a.m., at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
Eva Mireles
A visitation for Eva will be held on Thursday June 9, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated for the 10-year-old on Friday, June 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Uvalde. Eva will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery following the funeral mass, according to the funeral home.

Funeral services are being held Wednesday, June 1, according to Kens5. However, the family has asked it be a private service.

A visitation for Jacklyn will be held on Thursday, June 2, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary Chapel. A funeral mass will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
