Netflix has quietly dropped Pearl, the working title of an animated series that was created by Prince Harry’s wife.

Pearl, which Harry’s wife was set to exec produce with Elton John’s husband David Furnish, was announced last summer and was described as a family series that centers on the adventures of a 12-year-old girl who finds inspiration in a variety of influential women throughout history.

At the time Harry’s wife said:

“Like many girls her age, our heroine Pearl is on a journey of self-discovery as she tries to overcome life’s daily challenges. I’m thrilled that Archewell Productions, partnered with the powerhouse platform of Netflix and these incredible producers, will together bring you this new animated series, which celebrates extraordinary women throughout history. David Furnish and I have been eager to bring this special series to light, and I am delighted we are able to announce it today.”

Despite signing a contract in 2020 and hiring Nishika Kumble in 2021 as senior vice president of scripted TV for Archewell Productions, the show remained in the development stage.

Prince Harry is set to produce an upcoming documentary series ‘Heart of Invictus.’

My prediction. Don’t look for it to come to fruition along with any other project from Meghan Markle for Netflix.

At the same time, Harry’s wife signed the Netflix deal, she also signed with Spotify.

Rebecca Sananes was hired in 2021 to provide content for her Spotify podcast.

In 2022 Spotify announced they were hiring a staff to work on her podcast.

To date, only one podcast was submitted in 2020 for 33 minutes and 21 seconds.

My prediction, Spotify will most likely be following suit.
