Kohan first rose to prominence with the hit Showtime series, “Weeds,” starring Mary Louie-Parker as a widow who becomes a drug dealer. The series ran for eight seasons.

In 2013, “OITNB” premiered on Netflix and was an instant hit. The show was nominated in 2014 for Outstanding Comedy Series and then the next year for Outstanding Drama Series. She’s also a producer on “GLOW,” chronicling female wrestlers in the 1980s.

Kohan has been nominated for eleven Emmy Awards, winning one in 1997 for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series for her work on “Tracey Takes On…”
