B-Soul is here and it came with a bang at the Exclusive G Salvatore Fashion showcase event when the founders of this new musical vibe Stephan Dante and Tubsy Dholki Walla performed their first truly original B-Soul track ‘Dirty’ at the event. B-Soul according to Stephan Dante is a fusion of Soul, RnB with Bhangra vibes and influences thrown in. The concept originally sprung to life when Stevie Eagle E brought the two artists together for a previous event and involved during rehearsals. It was during these rehearsals that a unique bond was formed between Stephan Dante and Tubsy Dholki Walla and B-Soul was born.
We spoke with Stephan Dante on the phone about the event, B-Soul and working with the Legendary musician Tubsy Dholki Walla.
Hi Stephan Dante – How was it for you performing with Tubsy at the G Salvatore Fashion showcase?
Hello. It was great! I had a great time and I enjoyed myself. I got to meet amazing artist like Beate Jacobsen, Robert Magyar, Joanna Shegera as well as work again with my buddy Prince Bayo, I think it went very well. I have kids so when I get a chance to get away I like to make the most of it. I think I danced all night. Working with Tubsy is fun. He is just so laid back and humble and nothing seems to phase him. He has been doing this for a long time so I guess for him it’s just another day in the office. He makes me relax and feel great on stage because he is such a generous person a very giving person in his nature. Tubsy just loves the music and loves to play. When we are on stage we just have a good time and I hope that comes across to everyone in the audience.
So now you have your first official B-Soul track how do you feel the world will react to it?
I have no idea. You just can’t predict these things but we like so that’s enough for now. We are still working on what B-Soul really is. The first couple of times we tried it live it was a bit messy because we did not rehearse enough and understand one another as well as we should do. We are getting better and the music – B-Soul is becoming more distinctive in its sound but we still have a way to go to fully lock it in. Dirty will be our first truly B-Soul track. Before we were using tracks I had before and putting his licks on them, but this one was constructed from scratch with the B-Soul vibe.
What would you like to see happen with B-Soul?
I would just like to see it being appreciated and liked. That’s what music is all about. We are not trying to re-make the wheel, just growing as artists and musicians trying different things. If people like it that’s enough for me. I hope it really catches on and other artists get with it and start trying to really fuse different things together and try new things. The music industry at the moment is a little stagnet.
We were unable to speak to Tubsy in this interview. To have a listen to the track dirty or watch the video of their performance at the G Salvatore Fashion showcase click on the video image below.
B-Soul looks like it might just stick and hang around and who knows it could well catch on. With these two amazing artists behind it, anything is possible and we will be watching the progress here at GlobalNewsink.
