What happens when Chinese/British entrepreneur and Tech wiz Jayson Ho invites an artist over to his exclusive event in Bangkok and that artist cannot make it? Simple being the guy he is he makes it happen anyway. That’s exactly what happened when Jayson Ho (Head of Tech company D8ii) wanted to have rising star Stephan Dante at his exclusive Chinese new year event at Char Rooftop bar in Bangkok. Stephan Dante was unable to make it due to her son being unwell. Jayson Ho is a man not used to not getting his way and so he contacted Stevie Eagle E from Shlepp Entertainment to set up a live video streaming performance with Stephan Dante to his guests.
We were invited to Shlepp London studios for the filming and spoke to Stephan Dante right after her live streamed performance.
So Stephan how did you think that went?
I have no idea. It was weird but cool at the same time. In some ways more nerve racking than a live audience right in front of you because you cannot feel the feedback so much you just have to hope you are reaching them or sounding ok.
We were very impressed that you sang a Thai classic. How long did that take you to learn?
About 2 weeks. That was all Jayson’s idea, at first when he asked me to come and sing some Thai songs I was like What!!! But after the initial shock a sat down and thought, yeah I can do this. I like a challenge. I have no idea if I pulled it off though. I asked them after I sang it if I was ok and they said yeah, but they could have just been trying to be polite. I felt good singing it. I just hope they appreciated the effort.
From where we were standing you sounded great. Is this something you would do again?
Yeah why not. I mean I love to fly around and do shows, but sometimes it gets a bit much and with technology the way it is these days performances like this are almost just as effective and save a lot of costs and time for everyone. I wouldn’t mind and I know that Jayson and Stevie have been discussing expanding this whole online gig adventure so lets see what happens.
Before you go can we ask you what you are working on at the moment?
Yes sorry you can hear my little devil crying. It is not easy being a single mum artist! Anyway at the moment my first priority is the album and we are making good progress with that. Several tracks are already available. I am also working on my Children’s book and a fashion line I am creating, so I am quite busy.
We also got a chance to speak briefly with Jayson Ho on the phone.
Hi Jayson, thank you for taken a moment to speak to us. How do you feel that went?
Better than expected to be honest. A few technical hitches which we will fix for the future.
So you are planning to this this sort of thing again?
Why not. I would like to refine the tech on both ends to make it all run better, improve the sound and visual quality but I feel that it is a great option for events, parties and special occasions and a cost effective one too.
How do you think Stephan Dante did with the Thai song?
She did really well, it’s not the easiest language to master and you don’t want to offend people by getting it totally wrong, but I was impressed with her. I am a big fan of Stephan Dante anyway and I guess that much is obvious, when I asked her to sing Thai I really thought she would say no but she said ok. So big thank you to her and Shlepp Entertainment, Stevie Eagle E for making it all happen with me.
Can we quickly ask you what you are working on for the future?
Well I cannot say too much at this time but we are building some really cool platforms that will impact big time on the entertainment industry. Just keep your eyes on me and you will see.
Thank you for your time Jayson enjoy the rest of your event and have a happy Chinese new year.
